The Katherine Kyes Leab and Daniel J. Leab American Book Prices Current Exhibition Catalog Awards for Excellence: An Online Exhibition of Winning Catalogs, 1986-1995.

The Katharine Kyes Leab & Daniel J. Leab American Book Prices Current Exhibition Awards are given for excellence in the publication of catalogs and brochures that accompany exhibitions of library and archival materials, as well as for electronic exhibitions of such materials.

They are selected annually by the Exhibition Awards Committee of the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section (RBMS) of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), a division of the American Library Association (ALA).

This web site presents an electronic version of a traveling exhibition celebrating the winning catalogs from the first ten years of the Katharine Kyes Leab and Daniel J. Leab Exhibition Catalog Awards (1986-1995).

In addition, this web site is intended to foster a greater general appreciation and awareness of library and archival exhibitions and their accompanying catalogs, which serve as educational, promotional, and artistic vehicles for exploring a variety of topics reflecting the collecting interests and strengths of their host institutions.

The winning catalogs, chosen from submissions by libraries and archives across the United States and Canada, are noted for their excellence in research, writing, design, and production. These catalogs deserve wide recognition as being among the very best examples of their kind.
