The University of Chicago: A Centennial View.

The University and the City: A Centennial View of the University of Chicago.

By Frank Yoder.

[Chicago: University of Chicago], 1991.

59 p., illustrated.

Published by the University of Chicago Library, these catalogs won the Department of Special Collections a Special Award of Merit in 1993 for the conception, execution and production of a series. The handsome design concept was developed by William Seabright and Associates. Each catalog has its own color scheme, but typography and style of layout are uniform throughout. Books, photographs, manuscripts, and ephemera illustrate the various topics, showcase the wealth of source materials available in the Library's collections, and contribute to the authors' documentation of the University's history.

Designed by William Seabright and Associates (overall concept) and Joan Sommers (The University and the City and The Presidents of the University of Chicago). Printed by Dupli-Graphic Processors on Vintage Velvet. Catalogs produced in conjunction with exhibitions held October 6, 1991 — February 12, 1993. Special Award of Merit, 1993. Exhibited courtesy of the Exhibition Catalog Awards Committee, RBMS and the LSU Libraries, Louisiana State University. (ES)
