| This catalog and exhibition were prepared in conjunction with an interdisciplinary conference sponsored by the American Association for Netherlandic Studies, and are accordingly historically focussed and rather specialist in nature. The "hook" for non-specialists is the sometimes outrageously satirical nature of the pamphlets and caricatures, which are described in the introduction as "abusive, vulgar, and sometimes bawdy." Designed by Karen Cogsdill, printed by University Printing Services. Catalog produced in conjunction with an exhibition held April 28 — June 21, 1986, at the Hatcher Library, University of Michigan. Division Three Winner, 1987. Exhibited courtesy of the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center, The University of Texas at Austin. (ES) |
