| The exhibition for which this catalog was produced celebrated the bicentennial of Franklin and Marshall College and provided an occasion to publicize important conservation treatment of items in the exhibition made possible by grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, The Institute for Museum Services, and the L.J. Skaggs and Mary C. Skaggs Foundation. Religious and aesthetic Pennsylvania German traditions, which form an important part of the heritage of the College, are explored in the catalog text. The checklist includes transcriptions of texts from the collection accompanied by translations. The wide rectangular format reflects and accommodates the many handsome color illustrations. Catalog designed by Stephanie Knopp Designs, Philadelphia; composition by Anita Focht, Franklin and Marshall College; lithography, Acorn Press Inc., Lancaster, PA; photography by John P. Herr, Lancaster, PA. Catalog produced in conjunction with an exhibition held October 2-22, 1987, at Franklin and Marshall College. Division Two Winner, 1989. Exhibited courtesy of the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center, The University of Texas at Austin. (ES) |
